Living Room Reveal

I am so excited to bring you my Living Room Reveal.
When decorating this space, I focused on tying in new elements to furniture we already owned. The overall theme for the room is a bohemian meets modern vibe. The inspiration for redecorating came from our move to Arizona. In our new home, the living room is right next to the kitchen. The kitchen cabinets are all white with gray granite counter tops. I wanted to make sure I added lots of color and texture to the space so that the rooms didn’t wash each other out. The next factor for décor in this room was my husband. I wanted to make sure the furniture was livable and homey, but also fun and chic. My husband is BIG into making sure we own practical and comfortable furniture. If it was his way he would want multiple recliners not looking at a color pallet. I on the other hand would pick the most stylish but potentially uncomfortable pieces. Let’s just say we had to come to some compromises… :)
Since this is the most used space in our house, the furniture needed to be livable. The first thing I did in creating this space was to think of a color pallet. Once I had this I grabbed accent pieces that would tie the “look” together. We already had the leather couch, throw pillows, lamps, and one accent chair. The first purchase I made for the room was the cowhide rug. Doing this gave me warm color tones I could work with in the rest of the room. I have found a lot of people are afraid to mix patterns and textures! Don’t Be!! The new trend is all gray or white color pallets. This is beautiful, but don’t forget to add textured elements to the room. Doing this will give the room dimension and keep it from “all looking the same.” The textured elements I added from the cowhide and couch were accent pillows, two wooden coffee tables, and a wooden accent chair. I truly love this space and how it came together! I have to thank my Mom for having an amazing eye for detail and my husband for being open minded. The Living Room is now our favorite room in the house! I hope you enjoy this room as much as I did creating it!
